Center for Research in Molecular Medicine and Chronic Diseases (CIMUS)

Center for Research  in Molecular Medicine and Chronic Diseases (CIMUS) is to promote the development of an interdisciplinary research in the field of biomedical sciences, through the interaction and collaboration of integrated teams in the center, and with relevant national and international groups.
the research in CIMUS is constituted by three vertical thematic units (Cancer, Endocrinology and Nutrition, and Neuroscience) and two transversal areas (Genetics and Functional Genomics).

The Center is in a new building, with 12,945 m2 of floor space and 22 research laboratories. The laboratories of the CIMUS have been designed with flexibility, security and sustainability in mind and have the most modern technology for research support, in order to ensure their researchers the best quality results.

The available facilities include:

- Animal facility
- Cell cultures unit
- Imaging unit and confocal microscopy
- Proteomic unit
- Laser microdissection unit
- Display of tumors in vivo unit
- pharmacological screening unit
- Biostatistics platform
- Bioinformatic platform
- Genotyping unit

Currently there are 32 researchers selected in CIMUS but it has room for 250 which will be hired in the medium term through Campus Vida’s strategic talent attraction program
